The market for private transport with a driver is growing rapidly. There is also a growing number of companies that use the words "luxury", "VIP" and "premium" without any basis in reality. How to distinguish a real service from marketing noise? Here are 10 questions worth asking before every booking.
1. What exactly are the vehicles in the fleet?
Ask about specific models and years — not "premium cars". Mercedes S-Class 2018 and S-Class 2024 are different worlds. A good company provides the year of production and specifications.
2. Is the vehicle insured with third party liability and AC insurance?
Standard — but worth confirming. Also ask about passenger accident insurance.
3. Who will be the driver?
Does the company employ permanent drivers or use subcontractors? The permanent driver has undergone internal training and is known to the company. Subcontractor — you don't know who will come.
4. Does the company issue a written contract?
Every reliable company confirms the order in writing — by e-mail or by contract. A verbal promise does not protect you in case of problems on the day of the event.
5. What exactly is included in the price?
Fuel? Road tolls? Expectancy? Decorations (at the wedding)? Have a list of everything that's included — and a list of what may be added. Hidden costs are the most common source of disappointment.
6. What happens in the event of a vehicle breakdown?
A good company has a replacement vehicle or an emergency protocol. Ask: "What do you do when your car breaks down on the road?" The answer says a lot about professionalism.
7. Is it possible to cancel or change the date?
Life can be unpredictable. Ask about the conditions for canceling your reservation — how much in advance and what costs. A company without a flexible cancellation policy is a risk with uncertain deadlines.
8. What does communication look like on the day of the trip?
Will you get the driver's phone number? What time will he confirm arrival? The lack of a clear communication procedure is a warning sign.
9. Does the company have references or opinions?
Google, Facebook, direct references from companies. Opinions should be detailed and varied — not five short "I recommend!" exhibited in one day.
10. Is an NDA or confidentiality clause possible?
If you use transport for business or private matters that require discretion, ask directly. A company that respects privacy will not hesitate to sign a confidentiality agreement.
